Meet the Fellows

Kimbell Dobbins is a senior Classics major at Furman University. She became interested in the Open Philology project while taking Greek with Dr. Blackwell and discussing the challenges of Digital Humanities with visiting researchers. In addition to assisting with the project and all tasks that come with it, Kimbell is also interested in learning about Higher Education in Germany and Europe as she hopes to enter the field after graduation.

Sami Strickland is a senior History and Political Science major, with minors in Ancient Greek Studies and the Humanities. She was first introduced to the Open Philology project and Digital Humanities at the University of Leipzig through Dr. Blackwell. Sami has taken several years of ancient Greek and will be taking German and Latin during her senior year to help prepare her for her post-Furman goal of pursuing ancient history in graduate school. 

Ellie Daniel is a senior at Furman University from Greenville, South Carolina. She has a major in History and a minor in Ancient Greek and Roman Studies. Her areas of interest within history are 20th century America and Modern Germany and she has taken several years of ancient Greek. Ellie became involved in the Open Philology project through Dr. Blackwell while taking ancient Greek. Ellie plans to move out West after she graduates from Furman and is interested in working for the National Park Service as a park ranger.
